SEN Teacher (Autism, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties)

A large special school situated very close to Heathrow airport is seeking to appoint an SEN teacher with previous experience of teaching children with EBD, MLD, and ASD.

Subject area specialisms are advantageous but not essential.

This role will start in September 2010 and will be a long term, full time position. The pupils at the school have moderate and complex learning needs and an increasing proportion have difficulties associated with autism.

Approximately one third of the pupils come from families who speak additional languages at home. In 2005 the school gained specialist school status for cognition and learning and also holds awards for Healthy Schools and Investors in People.

The school runs very smoothly on a daily basis, providing a purposeful learning environment where staff and pupils have good relationships with one another. The pupils are happy in school and parents and carers are pleased with the support that the staff give to their children and families.

• To be successful you must hold a Teaching Qualification
• You must have a current police clearance.
• You should display a proven track record of pupil learning outcomes.
