Nursery Nurse

A large urban Primary school in the heart of Southwark requires a qualified Nursery Nurse to start immediately. The school has excellent facilities and are able to offer the best resources to staff in turn creating a pleasant teaching environment.

With pre-school children, much of the work is focussed on the physical care of the child so, feeding, bathing, dressing etc are key elements of the job, although focus is still given to language development and exploration through play.

Older children will be encouraged more academically to recognise numbers, letters and writing. Assessing the children and providing feedback on their development to parents, teacher & health visitors can also be part of the job.

You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic, positive, a quick learner, be familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile and be a good team player. You must be qualified to National Vocational Qualification Two in Early Years.

You will be expected to change nappies, be punctual and flexible and go about their daily duties with a cheerful friendly manner .The childcare team has created a family-like atmosphere for all the children in the nursery, they recognise the importance of treating each child as an individual and help them to develop to their full potential.

You will need to be committed, dedicated and have a real passion for working with children in the early years.

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:
- You must have good spoken English;
- You must have a minimum of 6 months child related experience;
- Your CV must cover the last 5 years employment history and any employment breaks must be explained;
- You need to supply two recent professional references, relating to your work with children;
- This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
